JAMB Opens 2026 Original UTME Result Slip Printing as Candidates Raise Fresh Concerns

JAMB Opens 2026 Original UTME Result Slip Printing as Candidates Report Portal Issues

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of printing for the 2026 Original Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Result Slip, a document required by tertiary institutions for admission processing and Post-UTME screening exercises.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who informed candidates and stakeholders that the Original Result Slip would become available for printing within two hours.

“The 2026 UTME Original Result Slip will be available for printing within the next two hours today, Wednesday, June 17, 2026,” Benjamin stated.

He explained that the Original Result Slip contains important information such as the candidate’s photograph, national ranking, examination score, and other security features required for admission purposes.

“The Original Result Slip contains the candidate’s photograph, national ranking, and other security features. It is part of the official document required for Post-UTME processing and consideration by tertiary institutions,” he added.

Benjamin further explained that candidates can conveniently print the Original Result Slip from any internet-enabled device, whether at home, in offices, or at accredited business centres. He advised candidates to carefully verify all information on the slip immediately after printing and keep copies for future admission-related processes.

Unlike the regular UTME result notification or SMS result-checking service, the Original Result Slip serves as an official admission document. It contains additional security features, candidate identification details, and other information used by universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions during screening and admission verification exercises.

The development comes just days after JAMB released the results of the 2026 mop-up UTME examination, paving the way for admission activities across tertiary institutions nationwide. Many schools have already commenced the sale of Post-UTME and screening forms, making the Original Result Slip one of the most important documents required by admission seekers.

However, shortly after the announcement, several candidates took to social media to express concerns over challenges encountered while attempting to access JAMB services. Some candidates complained about difficulties printing the result slip despite completing payment, while others raised concerns about unresolved issues relating to change of course and institution requests.

One candidate, identified as Nelson Chisimdi, appealed to the examination body to ensure that change of course and institution requests reflect promptly on school portals.

“Help us so that the portal for change of course and institution can start working and reflecting. I don’t want to lose my school’s Post-UTME deadline,” he wrote.

The concern reflects growing anxiety among candidates whose preferred institutions have already begun screening registrations. Many universities require applicants to complete all necessary modifications on their JAMB profiles before they can successfully register for Post-UTME exercises.

Another candidate, identified as Kitty, complained about being unable to access the portal after successfully making payment for the Original Result Slip.

“Have no access to the portal after payment,” the candidate stated.

Similar complaints were echoed by other candidates who reported experiencing difficulties accessing certain JAMB services despite repeated attempts.

A more serious concern was raised by Lamidi Jamiu Alade, who alleged a discrepancy between the score obtained through JAMB’s SMS result-checking service and the score displayed on the Original Result Slip.

According to him, his younger sister initially received a score of 180 through the SMS channel, but the Original Result Slip later showed an aggregate score of 147.

“Good day sir, I need clarity please. My younger sister checked her JAMB result via SMS and scored 180. However, when we downloaded the original result from the JAMB portal, the aggregate came out as 147. That’s a 33-point difference,” he wrote.

The allegation generated reactions from other candidates who called on JAMB to provide clarification regarding any possible differences between scores obtained through various result-checking channels. As of the time of filing this report, the examination body had not issued an official response to the specific complaint.

Another candidate, Sharon Shittu, expressed frustration over delays affecting access to JAMB services, stating that many admission seekers remain uncertain about their academic future while others have already begun preparations for admission screening exercises.

“This isn’t fair. I don’t even know my fate. A lot of people are already preparing for school, while some of us are just there,” she lamented.

The latest concerns add to ongoing complaints by candidates regarding portal instability and delays affecting change of institution, change of course, and biodata correction services. In recent days, many candidates have expressed frustration over difficulties modifying their admission details as several institutions continue to release Post-UTME forms and screening schedules.

Education stakeholders have urged candidates to remain calm and continue monitoring official JAMB communication channels for updates. They also advised candidates to verify all details on their Original Result Slips immediately after printing and report any discrepancies through official support channels.

Candidates are also encouraged to complete other admission-related requirements, including uploading O’Level results on the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), monitoring their institution’s admission portal, and ensuring all necessary profile corrections are completed before screening deadlines.

With admission activities expected to intensify in the coming weeks, many candidates are hoping that all outstanding technical issues affecting JAMB services will be resolved quickly to prevent delays in the admission process. The release of the Original Result Slip marks another important stage in the 2026 admission exercise as institutions begin preparations for screening and candidate selection.

For thousands of candidates across the country, the ability to access and print the Original UTME Result Slip is expected to determine how smoothly they can proceed with Post-UTME registration and other admission requirements. As institutions continue to announce screening schedules and application deadlines, attention will remain on JAMB to ensure that candidates can access all essential services without disruption.
