In the latest CDCFIB recruitment update, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has reacted to fake screening and shortlisting information currently circulating on social media, warning Nigerians to ignore the claims.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are advised to also focus on verified opportunities like the SFDP Health Innovation Challenge which is currently accepting applications and offering $300 grants to winning teams. Other ongoing programmes include: Tony Elumelu Foundation grants, NFWP grant, Cliff-Grads grant, TISSF interest-free loan, YouthCred programme, loan without BVN, etc.
A circular shared widely on Facebook alleged that the CDCFIB had shortlisted candidates for its 2026 recruitment exercise and directed them to visit the recruitment portal to select screening centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The document further claimed that physical screening and documentation would commence within a specified timeframe.
However, the CDCFIB team has clarified that no such announcement has been made.
According to the board, it is yet to release any official information regarding shortlisting or physical screening for the ongoing recruitment exercise. The viral circular, dated January 6, 2026, is not an authentic CDCFIB document and did not originate from the board or its recruitment team.
A closer look at the circular reveals multiple grammatical errors and inconsistencies that do not align with the standard of official government communication. These errors, alongside the absence of confirmation on the CDCFIB’s official platforms, further confirm that the notice is fake.
The board emphasized that all legitimate updates concerning the recruitment process will be communicated strictly through its official recruitment portal; https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng/ and other verified CDCFIB channels. Applicants have been advised to ignore messages, screenshots, or documents circulating on social media or private messaging platforms claiming to announce screening dates or shortlisted candidates.
The CDCFIB also cautioned Nigerians against individuals and groups using fake recruitment updates to mislead applicants or extort money under the guise of “assistance” or “facilitation.”
Candidates are urged to remain patient and vigilant while awaiting official communication. Until the CDCFIB formally announces the next stage of the 2026 recruitment exercise, all claims regarding screening schedules or shortlisting remain false.
