The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially opened the online application portal for the 2026 Hajj National Medical Team (NMT), creating an opportunity for qualified Nigerian health professionals to participate in medical services during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The announcement was made by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, who called on eligible and experienced healthcare workers across the country to submit their applications within the stipulated period.
According to the Commission, the recruitment exercise is open to Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses, and Environmental or Community Health Officers who are willing to serve pilgrims during the Hajj on a voluntary basis. The National Medical Team plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of Nigerian pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia.
NAHCON stated that interested applicants are required to apply online through its official website. Applicants can access the portal by visiting the NAHCON website and navigating to Resources, then selecting the NMT Application Portal. Alternatively, applications can be submitted directly via newsite.nigeriahajjcom.gov.ng.
The Commission confirmed that the application portal will open tonight, Friday, 12 December 2025, at exactly 11:59 pm, and will remain accessible until Monday, 15 December 2025, at 11:59 pm. Applicants are therefore advised to complete and submit their applications early, as late entries will not be entertained once the portal closes.
NAHCON also issued important guidelines for applicants, stressing that only successful candidates will be contacted after the screening and selection process. The Commission further disclosed that available slots are limited, making the selection process highly competitive.
It was also emphasized that all selected medical personnel will serve strictly on a voluntary basis, in line with the Commission’s operational framework for the Hajj medical team. Applicants are therefore encouraged to carefully review all terms and conditions before submitting their applications.
