Young Nigerians eager to develop their leadership skills and gain mentorship opportunities can now apply for the Fola Aina Leadership Program, as applications for the program’s second cohort have officially opened.
The Fola Aina Leadership Program is a structured initiative aimed at identifying, nurturing, and empowering young leaders across Nigeria. It focuses on fostering growth, strengthening credible governance, and promoting peace and social impact in various sectors.
The program is open to Nigerian citizens between the ages of 21 and 35, with exceptional applicants aged 18 to 21 also considered. It targets motivated young professionals from diverse fields who are committed to contributing meaningfully to national development.
What the Fola Aina Leadership Program Offers
Selected participants will join a comprehensive leadership development experience, designed to equip them with practical skills, strategic thinking, and sector-specific leadership capabilities. The six-week program includes immersive learning sessions in three key thematic areas:
Leadership in Business
Leadership in Social Development
Leadership in Governance
The program combines academic sessions, a strengths-based leadership curriculum, and cultural activities, preparing fellows to tackle real-world leadership challenges in their communities and careers.
Additionally, all participants will attend the Fola Aina Annual Colloquium on Youth, Leadership, and Nation Building in Abuja. This high-level event brings together young leaders and influential stakeholders from public, private, and non-profit sectors, offering fellows opportunities to present talks, engage in discussions, and expand their professional networks.
The program also includes volunteering experiences with partner organizations, allowing participants to apply leadership insights practically, while building connections with peers nationwide. Alumni of the program become part of a growing network of young leaders driving positive change across Nigeria.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements to participate in the Fola Aina Leadership Program:
Be a Nigerian citizen
Have lived in Nigeria for at least six months prior to application
Be between 21 and 35 years old on or before the application deadline (exceptional applicants aged 18–21 may be considered)
Commit at least three hours weekly to program activities
Be proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Not be employed by or be an immediate family member of an employee of the Triola Aina Foundation
Not have previously participated in the Fola Aina Leadership Program
